To provide customer a high quality service in Public Telephony, Nepal Telecommunication is operating advanced card phone services consisting of modern public terminals for both indoor and outdoor use, supervised by a centralized network management system.
NEPAL TELECOM had started Pay Phone service in 2058 Bhadra and nowadays it is giving services in 283 places. The regional distribution of Card phone is as follows.

  • Smart card is available in all NEPAL TELECOM's counters as well as in near all installed card phone ex. Shaja medical store (Teaching Hospital and Kanti Hospital), Duty Free Shop (International Airport), Departmental Shop counter etc
Tips for the use of card phone
  1. Pick up hand set.
  2. In digital display you get "insert card ", then insert  your card in right side or lower part of the card phone set.
  3. In display. you get remaining unit of your card
  4. Now dial telephone number.
  5. After connection, you can see time and decreasing unit in display.
  6. After Conversation, put the hand set then pull out card.
  7. Three digit calls are free.
The modern set of card phone has following facilities:
  1. Change (available in 3 languages: English, German, Greek)
  2. Volume
  3. Flash
  4. Incase of insufficient unit push button "K" and insert another card, you call will be continue.
