PDSN or packet data switching network service provides high speed internet connection to our C-PHONE users. The maximum data rate is 153.6 Kbps. However this rate is dynamic and can be slower depending on the traffic volume. Considering the dynamic nature of data rate, customers are charged on the bulk of data transferred.
To use PDSN service, the customer needs to register for the service with Nepal Telecom. To use PDSN, the phone is connected to the computer just as an external modem would be connected with a serial cable. Then the user needs to create a dial up connection with dialing no. as #777 and the username and password provided by NT. Details of how to create a dialup connection is available in the phone operation manual.
Any data subscriber with call waiting facility will be able to receive incoming calls while using the data service where the data service will remain dormant for the duration of the call and will resume again after the completion of the call.
