It plans the IT policies and implements the programs of the company.
The directorate operates and maintains computer networks for billing of PSTN, CDMA, GSM telephone, Internet systems.
It operates and maintains customer care, ERP, inventory, human resource management and office automation systems.
It manages and operates various Information Systems i.e. PSTN Customer Billing System (CBS), (EBS), Service Division (SD), Internet Billing System (IBS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Convergent Real Time Billing (CRTB) etc.
The directorate operates the largest domestic IP Networks through optical system and it has the largest international internet connectivity via satellite and cross border optical fiber link (nearly 1.5 Gegabit).
