The Home Country Direct Service (HCD) Prepaid phone card commercially named as NepalDirect is the best way to to make phone calls to Nepal from abroad in Nepalese Rupees, that gives you good quality of voice conversation. When a user initiates a call with an HCD prepaid card, the system will first check the card number status, balance and validity period of the card and then decide whether to answer or reject the call accordingly. Relevant charges for the call will be made to the card on a real time basis. To use the service, the user has to first dial the access code, and then enter the card number and PIN according to the system voice prompt. Currently, Nepal Telecom has introduced HCD Prepaid card service with three different denominations of Rs 500, Rs 1000 & Rs 2000 which are valid for 6 months, 12 months and 18 months respectively from the first use of the cards. By first use, we refer to calling destination number or use of management function such as query balance.

How to Dial? :-
Your "NepalDirect" account is instantly activated when you make the first call or perform management function such as query balance. In order to make a call, dial the access code (refer list of Access codes) and follow the voice instructions or follow the instruction as shown in the backview of the HCD Card.
Procedure to call Nepal :-
Dial country specific access code (see list of Access codes table) and hear the language selection voice prompt.
Press 1- for English and 2- for Nepali Voice.
Enter the 9 digits Card Number and then press # key to confirm after the voice prompt
Enter the 6 digits PIN Code and then press # key to confirm.
Dial the Area Code and Telephone number within Nepal Telecom's network. (No need to dial the Country Code).
Press 11# to Query Balance.
Important Tips :-
If there is any mistake in dialing Card No., PIN No. or Phone No., press * to cancel.
If the line is busy, press 0 to redial

Important Precautions :-
While making a call from any Telephone set with LCD screen, do not forget to delete the numeric numbers you have dialed. Since such telephone sets have the provision of storing any input values, there are chances of storing Card No. and PIN of your card thereby passing such secret code to an unauthorized person to use your Card.
