Setting up your Dial-up Account
This section tells you how to set up a dial-up account in your computer to access NEPAL TELECOM Internet / Email service:
On the Start Menu:
Programs -> Accessories-> Communication -> Dial-Up Networking. You can open the same by clicking Dial-Up Networking inside My Computer or inside Control Panel if you are using Windows 2000.

On a computer that is not used for email / Internet previously, the Dial-Up Networking folder will contain only one icon named Make New Connection. (Fig. 1.1)
Double-click Make New Connection. A new window as shown in Fig. 1.2 will appear.

Type a name for the new connection. (Here the name is NTCnet. You can choose your own.). Then select appropriate modem from the Select a device option.
Click Next to get new window as shown in Fig. 1.3. Put 15000 on the box named Telephone number.
Right-click on the icon that appears on the Dial-Up networking folder (Fig. 1.4). From the menu that appears, click Properties. (Fig. 1.5)
You will now get the property window for the dial-up account. Set the properties as shown. (Fig. 1.6 & 1.7). Set the properties on General and Server Types as shown in Fig. 6 and Fig. 7. On fig 7, click on TCP / IP Settings to get window of Fig. 1.8. Set it as shown.

Once you have successfully set up your dial-up account, you can connect to the NEPAL TELECOM Internet or Email services by double-clicking the dial-up account (named NTCnet here). You supply the username and password and connect.
If your username and password are correct, the connection should succeed and then you can browse the Internet and send / receive mails.
