Internet Tariff



Among many valuable services provided by The Company, NEPAL TELECOM INTERNET SERVICE is now available to all class of citizens, from MECHI TO MAHAKALI. In pursing the goal in extending and improve its service making it more versatile, up-to-date and efficient, Internet Dialup can be accessed by Local Dialing.

We have different Internet Packages/Rates as below in provision as per Customer's comfort and choice.

1. Dial-up Internet Access

Currently, two categories of dialup Internet access are being provided PSTN and ISDN.

1.1 PSTN Dialup
PSTN dialup involves dialing over normal telephone lines with modems to our number 15000, nation wide. For customers of only Kathmandu Valley, alternative dialup over normal lines are 15040 and 15050 too.

We have different Internet Packages/rates as below in provision as per subscribers comfort and choice
  1. Fixed hour Package:
    This package is bundled with Multiple login and National Roaming facility. For example, a package with total 50 hours with six months validity will allow the user to surf the Internet up to 50 hours in six months time period.

  2. Home Surfing Package:
    This package offers National Roaming facility. The user can login from 7.00 PM night to 8.00 AM next day morning. This is a single user package.

  3. Fixed hour/month Package:
    This package is bundled with Multiple login and National Roaming facility. For this package user can surf the Internet for a fixed subscribed period every month. For example, user with 10hrs subscription can surf for maximum of 10hrs every month for a period of six months. If the fixed number of hours is utilized before end of each month, the account will be inactive and again activated from the next month.

1.2 ISDN Dialup

ISDN dialup involves local dialing over ISDN lines to our number 15099 for high-speed Internet Access. It can be also used for data transfer and video conferencing.

ISDN dialup provides connection speeds in multiples of 64 kbps (Maximum of 128 kbps per pair of ISDN lines). The advantage is that ISDN dialup access can be used whenever required and hence running cost is less than compared to Leased Internet Connectivity.

Special ISDN modems (called ISDN network terminals) are required for Internet accesses over ISDN lines.

  2. Fixed Hour ISDN Package
    The subscriber can surf the Internet for Fixed Hours during the subscriber period. With single channel, the user can obtain speed of 64 Kbps, whereas with double channel the speed is 128 Kbps.

2. Leased Line connectivity (n*64Kbps)


2.1 Internet Leased Line connectivity (n*64Kbps)

Nepal Telecom Internet service provides Leased Internet Connectivity over dedicated leased lines. These are very economical means of having high-speed Internet access round the clock. Require leased line modems at both ends of a physical leased line.

  • For bandwidth less than 1 Mbps, clients can buy or hire the Lease-Modem from Nepal Telecom or can manage themselves. For bandwidth of 1 Mbps or more with optical fiber link, the required Optical Port shall be provided free of cost.
  • Nepal Telecom will provide additional 10% discounts to Academic Institutes.
  • The client shall pay 2 months rental charge in advance for the first time and then one month rental charge in advance till subscription period.
  • Nepal Telecom will provide additional 5% discounts for an advanced payment of one year charges.
  • Installation charge is Rs.900.00 for the Local lease (copper pair).
  • Client shall manage the required drop wire.

  • Ownership tax Rs. 1000.
  • The above rates are monthly rates in NRs and exclusive of all applicable taxes.

2.2 Intranet Leased Line connectivity (n*64Kbps)

Nepal Telecom Internet service also provides Leased Intranet Connectivity over dedicated leased lines. This service is used to connect remote sites of a corporate network over Nepal Telecom's IP Backbone. Require leased line modems at both ends of a physical leased line.

  • The monthly charge for the Local leased (copper) cost Rs. 1000.00 is included in above monthly rate.
  • The installation charge for the Local leased (copper) cost Rs. 1800.00. Client itself shall arrange the required dropwire up to Client's premises.
  • The installation of necessary equipment configurations at the Client's premises shall be the responsibility of the Client.
  • The client shall arrange the required type of Modem (at both ends) by Self.
  • The Client is required to make advance payment for two months.
  • Nepal Telecom shall provide additional 5% discounts for an advanced payment of one year charges.
  • For bandwidth above 1 Mbps using Optical fiber, monthly Rs 5000.00 will be charged for lease access
  • Above rates are exclusive of all applicable taxes.

3. Web SMS

This is a new feature provided to our valued customers. With this feature we can send messages (SMS) of 120 letters to NTC Mobile (Postpaid) and Namaste (Prepaid) through Nepal Telecom website. User should be an active Nepal Telecom Internet user.

4. PSTN Bills in the Internet

The PSTN bills are posted in the Internet and which can be viewed via Nepal Telecom website after registration as instructed. Further details please check the Nepal Telecom website.

5. Post-Paid Mobile Bills

ViewBill is the application to view post-paid mobile billing and accounting information through Internet services.
Only mobile level users for corporate post-paid mobile accounts can use this service now. Private/Personal post-paid mobile users will be provided the service soon.

6. Telephone Inquiry

Nepal Telecom Website assists telephone inquiry service. One can easily find out telephone numbers, searching from names and vice versa.

7. Telecom Tenders

All the recent Nepal Telecom tender invitations can be viewed from our website.

Note:

  1. Internet (PSTN and ISDN) Dialup Packages are pre-paid.
  2. Discounts given for renewal of Internet (PSTN and ISDN) Dialup Packages of the published price.
  3. All the above rates are exclusive of all applicable taxes. Rates in NRs.
  4. The users can log on to Nepal Telecom homepage for changing passwords online.
  5. For the subscribed period of different Internet Service schemes, one free e-mail account is provided with each Internet Account.
  6. With Lease Internet Connectivity Package one free Unlimited Single User or 25hrs-monthly/hourly package Internet Account provided for the subscribed period.
  7. The charges shall be revised as when Nepal Telecom revises tariff plan.
